Could you sponsor a camper to go to our Catalyst Summer Camp?
For many of the young people we work with the summer holidays are difficult as they miss many of the positive supports which they receive during the academic year by ourselves, other service providers and the school. The result of this lack in provision is an increase in anti-social behaviour and in hostility in the family home. We provide a retreat within the summer holiday where parents can get respite and the young people can enjoy new surroundings and take part in once in a lifetime opportunities such as kayaking, raft building, orienteering, sports, swimming and more…
On top of these activities we also offer meals to many young people who could otherwise go hungry. Holiday hunger continues to be a major issue for the young people we work with as has been highlighted by the Scottish Commissioner for Children and Young People. We will provide 1680 meals for young people during the summer holiday to combat this issue.
The week is also an opportunity for young people to explore their faith and each day begins and ends with a devotional around the Christian faith.
Camp places are subsidised up to 85% and we are keen to partner with people who would be willing to sponsor a young person to attend the camp.
