Our story & how we work
Since 2013, Go! Youth Trust has been providing opportunities for young people to grow in confidence, explore new possibilities and thrive.
What began as a small group of volunteers from local churches offering mentoring support to children in local primary schools has grown into a wide‑ranging youth organisation supporting young people across Central Scotland. Today, our work is made possible by a committed team of over 130 volunteers, alongside staff, partners and supporters who share our heart for young people.
We support around 1,000 young people each year through a broad range of provision including mentoring, small group work, universal youth work, targeted youth work, personal development programmes, employability pathways, trips and residential experiences. Our delivery is responsive and relational, designed to meet young people where they are and provide the right support at the right time.
Go! Youth Trust works with young people aged 10–25 (and their families), offering continuity of support throughout adolescence and into adulthood. Many young people engage with us during primary school, continue through secondary school and into employability provision, before later returning as volunteers, trainees or staff, choosing to make an impact in the lives of other young people.
Partnership is central to how we work. We are passionate about creating opportunities for young people that they may not otherwise have access to. To do this, we bring together a wide range of partners including schools, churches, third sector organisations and statutory services, working collaboratively to ensure no young person is left behind.
Our programmes are delivered in the places young people already are – including schools, community centres, parks, residential centres, local churches and our own youth centres. We believe there should be no barriers preventing young people from achieving their potential, and we work flexibly to remove obstacles wherever possible.
As a Christian organisation, we are particularly motivated to work in partnership with local churches, training, equipping and supporting them to engage with young people and their families in meaningful and sustainable ways.
If you are a local church interested in making an impact in the lives of young people in your community, a partner organisation looking to collaborate or refer young people, or an individual interested in supporting our work, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch to start a conversation.
